The title track from Enid
Rose Weir's debut album "Keeping my eyes on the
cross," landed 16 letters on the desk of Frank
Wappat the first time it was played on his weekly Gospel
Show that is broadcast by BBC Newcastle. It went
on to be the most requested song by a female artiste for the year
2000 on the Frank Wappat's Gospel Show.
Well it only gets better! Enid's
latest offering has ten new songs, shrouded in a
fusion of Country & Western, folk, Calypso and
Traditional Gospel. Her timeless and uplifting lyrics
are elegantly delivered by her soothing, serene tones, as stated
by Mike Rimmer in the Cross Rhythms
magazine "Enid's songs have the power to encourage
and stir."
Whilst retaining some of the piquancy of her first album, "He's
my guiding light" contains some invigorating surprises.
As well as some adept production touches by Ruben King and
Noval Smith, it also features some excellent steel
guitar played by Tracy Neale and label mate Sonia King's
lustrous backing vocals. Not forgetting to mention some
inspirational ad-lib at the end of the album by young Timon King.
